The Needle Arts Center in Louisville, Kentucky is a long held dream of Marilou Jacob to provide instruction in all of the types of arts long practiced by women; quilting, sewing, embroidery, knitting, crochet, lace making, rug hooking, weaving, spinning, needlepoint, sashiko quilting, and other skills. The Center will provide classes from beginner level to expert plus some fun projects along the way.
Our dream doesn't stop with classes, however. We will, one day, have a physical center to house a lending library, show room, work space and more.
Marilou started sewing on buttons at age six and quickly moved on to making her own clothes. She also sewed household items such as draperies, upholstery, throw pillows, etc, as a professional interior decorator. When she moved to Louisville, Kentucky she looked for new challenges and took a beginner class in Quilting. The rest, as they say, is history.
Marilou has a son and a daughter, five grandchildren and a cat named Pyewacket, who is the official quilt judge. All projects must be 'cat tested and approved'.
If you live in the Louisville area and would like to teach for us, please send your contact information and something about the skills you can teach to Marilou at the address below. We pay on commission.
Please contact us with questions, ideas or to pay by check or cash.
